CROPS ALGY
TECHNICAL DATA SHEET
MARINE PLANT EXTRACT POWDER FERTILIZER
Derived from Ascophyllum nodosum
Crops algy is a water soluble seaweed extract fertilizer suitable for use in liquid foliar, soil applied, irrigation, and fertigation applications.
Benefits of Use:
Consistent use of CROPS ALGY supplements a well-balanced crop nutrition program. Use CROPS ALGY to increase desirable yield, improve overall plant nutritional health, improve root growth and development, improve plant vigor, and maximize crop potential during periods of stresses. To achieve the desired results, the levels of major and minor nutrients must be adequate to support the increase in production.
Applications of CROPS ALGY lead to better visual plant development, despite extreme heat stress conditions.
CROPS ALGY can adverse growing conditions – such as drought, flood, heat, disease and insects – reduce the potential for improved crop yields. Multiple bioactive compounds found within Crops products play a role in helping plants tolerate these stress conditions
CROPS ALGY encourages amino acids that strengthens cell walls and regulates the amount of water within cells to keep cells hydrated and healthy during stressful situations.
Also contains mannitol (a sugar alcohol) that also helps regulate the amount of water within cells to keep cells hydrated and healthy during stressful situations.
CROPS ALGY also contains key polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates) that trigger antioxidant production within plants. Antioxidants protect plants from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals.
CROPS ALGY is full of natural betaines and encourages betaine production. Betaines are compounds that help adjust the levels of water, salt and other substances within cells so that plants can better manage water, salinity, heat and chill stresses.
Using CROPS ALGY can help root uptake and absorb essential micronutrients
Besides many other benefits like the following:
- Increase fruit set and reduce fruit drop
- Improve plant natural defenses to abiotic stress.
- Increase fruit size, weight, color and firmness.
- Enhance growth and uniformity.
Foliar Applications: Use enough water for good spray coverage. The foliar spray should be applied as a fine mist, with low fluid velocity until the foliage is wet. Do not foliar-apply during times of moisture or heat stress. For best results apply during the cool part of the day or when temperatures are below 30°C. Do not spray just before or after rainfall or sprinkler irrigation. Use a mild rate of surfactant for maximum dispersal and leaf adherence.
Soil applications: Soil applied treatments can be made by mixing with soil-applied fertility, directed sprays to the soil, side dress treatments, applications through the irrigation systems or other methods which effectively apply CROPS ALGY to the soil. When making irrigation treatments dilute 1 pound of CROPS ALGY with a minimum of 1 gallon of clear water before adding to the supply tank. Continuous agitation of the supply tank is recommended. CROPS ALGY can be applied through drip, microject, sprinkle, overhead, furrow, flood and other types of irrigation at the suggested rates. For micro sprinkler, solid set or drip irrigation, apply after the system is fully pressurized. Inject for at least one hour then follow with clean water for 30-60 minutes to clear system of all product. Avoid heavy irrigation following application that may leach material beyond the root system of the crop.
Rooting/Transplant Solution: To encourage root growth of new transplants, treat roots with a solution of CROPS ALGY at the rate of 75 gm. to 250 gm. dry ounces per 100 liters of water prior to transplanting.
